If you deleted it recently, the photo is probably still in the trash.
How long is the photo stored?
In Google Photos, deleted items remain in the trash for 60 days when backed up, and about 30 days when not.
The manufacturer's gallery usually has its own trash can, which also stores the photos for about 30 days.
Restore using Google Photos
The process takes only a few minutes and returns the photo in its original quality.
If you have more than one cell phone linked to the same account, the trash can is the same on both.
Tap on the profile picture at the top of the screen. Each account has its own trash can, so check all the ones you use.
Tap Collections or Library, depending on the version, and then Trash.
Tap and hold the first photo, select the others, and tap Restore. They will be returned to the album with their original date.
Restore from phone's gallery
If the photo doesn't appear in Google Photos, it may be in the trash folder of the gallery that came with the device.
On Samsung devices, open the Gallery menu and tap Trash. On other brands, look for Recently Deleted.
If the trash can is empty
Also check the Google Photos Archive folder, where photos accidentally hidden end up, and the folders of messaging apps.
If nothing appears, the next step is to search for the photo directly in memory.
