Capacítate para el Empleo
It's a platform with free courses organized by sector, such as construction, health, technology, tourism, and customer service. In addition to individual courses, it offers learning paths, diplomas, and operational specialties.
On the same site there is a job openings section, useful for the next step after the course.
Aprende.org
It's a portal by the Carlos Slim Foundation that presents itself as free, open, and universal access to knowledge. It brings together education material, job training, health, culture, and human development.
It's a good option to explore varied topics with no commitment.
Coursera's free courses
Coursera has a section of free courses and a language filter to find courses taught in Spanish. Some content appears as free and others as free trial.
Before signing up, check the course label to know if it's really free.
The certificate
Each platform has its own rules about certificates. Check the course details before you start to know what you get at the end and if there's any cost.
Learning is free on all three options; what changes is the type of document each one provides.
How to protect yourself
Always enter by typing the official address in your browser. None of these platforms need your bank password to unlock a free course.
Be skeptical of messages that promise free certificates in exchange for personal data.
