Criteria for obtaining the benefit of reducing electricity costs

To be approved by the program: Social Electricity Tariff, your family must already be registered in the (CadÚnico) Single Registry for Government Social Programs. In addition to having a monthly energy expenditure that does not exceed the mark of 220 kWh.

It is also important that your family's per capita income is within the limit of up to half the minimum wage per person (R$706 per capita). Or that they are beneficiaries of the Benefit of Continuous Payment (BPC). And if by any chance you are already participating in programs like Bolsa Família, you will have an even greater chance of being approved!

It is worth noting that individuals who are disabled or elderly, aged 65 or over, can also receive BPC and are entitled to this program.

How does the reduction in electricity rates work?

The Social Tariff has a gradual discount schedule. In other words, the promotion and price reduction will be staggered according to your consumption. If you spend up to 30 kWh per month, the discount will be 65%.

If the expenses are between 31 to 100 kWh, your discount will be 40%.

But if you have a high expense between 101 to 220 kWh, the promotion will be only 10%.

In short, you will have a reduction of between 10% and 65% depending on the energy margin used, that is, if you do not waste energy, you can get even better discounts.

One of the state's objectives is to provide assistance to those in need and at the same time collaborate with awareness, encouraging the economy and ecology.
