What is the value of the Citizen's Income?
The monthly benefit provides R$100 to low-income families in São Paulo and Goiás. This money can be withdrawn using the Bolsa do Povo card at bank branches. However, to receive and be approved for the benefit, it will be necessary to meet the criteria listed below.
- Requirements to receive the benefit
- Being illiterate or having low professional qualifications
- Being unemployed or underemployed
- Living in a property with precarious conditions or not having a home
- Having a substance abuse problem or any other health issues
- In addition to the previous requirements, these families will need to have a monthly per capita income that does not exceed half the minimum wage (currently R$ 606)
- To be registered in the CadÚnico system in a regular and up-to-date manner.
The monthly benefit will be used both to provide financial assistance to families and to address important social issues such as children's school attendance and the health of family members.
- Step-by-step guide to applying for Citizen's Income
To be eligible for the Citizen's Income benefits, your family must already be registered in the CadÚnico and meet all the criteria mentioned above. Registration in CadÚnico can be done through the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) or through other official municipal agencies with equivalent functions.
- First, it will be necessary to register in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs), which must be done by the family head, aged 16 or older, by going to a CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) unit.
- Bring your CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) or Voter Registration Card, and don't forget the identity documents of all family members who will be covered by the benefit. Also bring marriage certificates and proof of residence and school enrollment.
- Once that's done, everything will be analyzed through data cross-referencing, and if you meet the requirements, you can start receiving benefits soon!
- Remember that your registration must be updated every two years, or whenever there is a change in your family's situation.
Not yet registered in the CadÚnico?
