"The unified TSE (Superior Electoral Court) exam for TREs (Regional Electoral Courts) in 2023 will be conducted under the responsibility of the TSE. The announcement will offer positions in several states. The exam will be administered regionally. This will reduce costs for public administration. Registration will be based on a single announcement."

The year 2023 will be exciting for the judicial sector, especially with the TREs (Regional Electoral Courts) competitive examination. With the confirmation of the unified notice by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), expectations for its publication are high.

At least 25 agencies have already confirmed their participation in the competition. The 2023 Budget Law (PLOA 2023) foresees 515 vacancies in the Electoral Court, including the creation of 10 new positions for judicial technicians and analysts.

Salaries range from R$ 8,046.84 to R$ 13,202.62, including base salary and GAJ (Judicial Activity Allowance). Check the available positions for each Regional Electoral Court (TRE) in the official notice.

The requirements for the TRE (Regional Electoral Court) exam include:

To be eligible, you must have a higher education degree, be a native-born/naturalized Brazilian citizen or a Portuguese citizen with equal rights to Brazilians, be at least 18 years old, enjoy political rights, and be up-to-date with your electoral obligations.

To be eligible, you must fulfill military obligations (for men), be physically and mentally fit, have no prior disciplinary record from public service, and not belong to a political party or engage in partisan activity.

The announcement for the new unified electoral court exam is expected in 2023, as announced by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court)

The announcement will include openings for interested TSE (Superior Electoral Court) and TREs (Regional Electoral Courts). So far, 15 TREs have confirmed their participation: Goiás, RJ, SP, MT, PI, SC, RN, CE, SE, TO, ES, RR, RS, MA, and PR.

The Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF) will not participate. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has already requested information from the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs) regarding vacancies and reserve positions.

The TSE (Superior Electoral Court) will determine the number of vacancies and needs of each court based on information from the relevant bodies. The budget will be financed by the TSE, which will also choose the organizing body (last time it was Cebraspe).

In the last competition, registration was restricted to only 1 court; it is not confirmed whether this structure will be maintained.

The Unified Electoral Court (TRE) exam will have mandatory content

According to TSE Resolution No. 23,391, the competitive examination for the Electoral Court must include objective tests of General Knowledge and Specific Knowledge.

Required General Knowledge includes:

  • Grammar and text interpretation in Portuguese;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Regulations for federal civil servants;
  • Internal regulations of the Court.

In addition, there may be essay-type tests, which should address a current topic and may be related to the area of ​​activity or specialty of the position. Courts may also include an evaluation of academic credentials.

For the position of Judicial Technician, Administrative Area, Security Specialty, a physical fitness test will be conducted, in accordance with the official notice.

Law 14.456/2022, published on December 26, requires a complete higher education degree for the position of judicial technician. The unified TRE (Regional Electoral Court) exam, for judicial technician and analyst positions, must follow this requirement.

The current salary for a technician is R$8,501.45 and for an analyst, it is R$13,365.38

Civil servants are entitled to benefits such as medical and dental care, childcare assistance, and qualification bonuses.

The last unified TRE (Regional Electoral Court) exam was in 2006, with 801 openings for technicians (high school level) and analysts (university level). It was organized by Cebraspe and the exams included questions on Basic and Specific Knowledge.
