A little more about the history of Heineken…
Heineken was founded in the Netherlands in 1863 and has become one of the most famous beverage companies in the world, currently with 250 brands distributed in 192 countries. There are 85,000 employees and 170 breweries worldwide, distributed in more than 70 countries.
The company arrived in Brazil in 2010 and since then has strengthened itself by establishing its products and acquiring other major brands of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages such as Sol, Kaiser, Bavaria, Amstel, Kirin Ichiban, Schin, Devassa, Água, etc. Schin, Schin Tonic Itubaína and Viva Schin.
Although the Heineken Group only entered Brazil in 2010, it already owns several brands and therefore has a considerable market share.
The main reason for this correlation is that the company acquired the Brazilian Kirin Holdings SA in 2017, becoming the second largest player in the Brazilian beer market and the largest sales market for Heineken® in the world!
Despite this, Heineken still sees the absolute leadership of Ambev, one of the largest beverage groups in the world, which is why the company has invested heavily in marketing and projects to increase awareness of the national brand.
The group has an average of 13,000 employees in Brazil and intends to continue investing in the country. For example, in 2019, in the state of São Paulo alone, the company plans to invest 550 million reais to modernize its factory in São Paulo.
