Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV) program guarantees much more advantageous conditions for low-income populations who wish to finance properties without being harmed by abusive interest rates. This social program is a much cheaper and more advantageous alternative than resorting to common loans and financing.
The government's goal is to help all low-income families through the "Minha Casa Minha Vida" program. Discounts will only be available to families with a maximum per capita income of R$ 8,000 per month. In other words, the combined salaries of the people living with you cannot exceed eight thousand reais. Furthermore, financing rules will vary according to your income bracket, dividing the program into progressively higher income levels.
The program undergoes some changes annually, and in 2024 the Government announced some further updates. Check out what those changes were:
- More homes available in 2024
Now the program also applies to the purchase of used properties; previously, the benefit was only available for new properties. But thanks to the change, the number of people benefiting annually could become even greater!
Furthermore, priority will be given to families on the waiting list where women are the heads of the household. (That is, the benefit also applies to families where the man is the head of the household, but priority will be given to households where the woman holds this position).
Families with children or teenagers, as well as the elderly, will also be given priority.
The current president has set a goal of delivering a total of 2 million residential units by the year 2026. In other words, many more properties will be made available to the Brazilian population, and one of them could certainly become your home!
